Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Rhinoceros

Rhinoceros requires a minimum aisle width of 2.5 meters for standard operation. With our advanced path optimization algorithms, it can operate in aisles as narrow as 2.2 meters for short distances. For VNA (Very Narrow Aisle) applications, we recommend the Mini Autonomous Forklift which requires only 1.8 meters.

Rhinoceros uses a fusion of 360° laser scanning and 3D vision to detect obstacles up to 30 meters away. The system calculates optimal paths in real-time and can safely navigate around moving pedestrians, other vehicles, and temporary obstacles. Safety-rated to ISO 3691-4 standards with multiple redundant stopping systems.

The LiFePO4 battery is designed for 2000+ charge cycles (approximately 5-7 years of operation). Replacement is a simple slide-out procedure taking less than 10 minutes. Replacement battery cost is approximately $3,500-$5,500 depending on capacity (200Ah or 400Ah). Our service team can perform replacement on-site or guide your maintenance staff.

Yes, Rhinoceros integrates seamlessly with SAP EWM, Oracle WMS, Manhattan, and other major warehouse management systems. We provide pre-built connectors for common platforms and a RESTful API for custom integrations. Typical WMS integration takes 2-4 weeks with our standard middleware.

Rhinoceros can climb ramps up to 8% grade with full load (2000kg) and 15% grade when unloaded. The automatic grade compensation system maintains fork leveling for safe load handling. Maximum ramp length should not exceed 10 meters for loaded operation.

Rhinoceros operates at approximately 65-68 dB(A) during movement and 60 dB(A) when stationary. This is significantly quieter than internal combustion forklifts (85+ dB) and comparable to electric manual forklifts. Optional acoustic warning systems can be configured for safety zones.

Maintenance is minimal compared to manual forklifts. Recommended schedule: Weekly visual inspection (5 minutes), Monthly software health check (automated), Quarterly mechanical inspection (1 hour), Annual comprehensive service (4 hours). Predictive maintenance alerts are generated automatically by the fleet management system.

Rhinoceros features 4 physical emergency stop buttons (front, rear, left, right), software-based emergency stop via dashboard, automatic obstacle detection stop, and mechanical bumper switches. All stops are safety-rated Category 3 per ISO 13849. Manual override mode allows qualified personnel to move the unit if needed.

Yes, Rhinoceros supports multi-floor operations with elevator integration. The system communicates with elevator controllers via dry contacts or network protocols to call cars and select floors. Floor-to-floor map switching is automatic. We have successful deployments in 5+ story distribution centers.

Absolutely. We offer custom fork configurations for Euro pallets, CHEP pallets, plastic pallets, and specialty sizes. Fork length, width, and spacing can be modified. We also support attachment integration such as paper roll clamps, drum handlers, and push-pull systems. Contact our engineering team for custom requirements.
